CTC 58 - 3D Gift Packaging

Don't you just love gift giving? I love making people's gifts extra special by creating the packaging to go with them, and at this time of year when there are lots of people to give little gifts to Stampin' Up! comes to the rescue with lots of packaging options.

I have used the adorable Square Pillow Box Thin letsFramelits for this little gift, ready to hold a gift card, or sweet treat.  I just love using blues at Christmas and for this I used Marina Mist and stamped it with the snowflakes from Perpetual Birthday, it is just wonderful for this type of small stamping.  I cut out the window using one of the framelits from the set and the tag from the Tags & Labels Framelits, cutting just one edge.  To make the embelishment I punched a Marina Mist 7/8" Scallop Circle and then layered a Kraft Corrugated Paper snowflake, again using one of the many little framelits that come with this set.

Sadly the Square Pillow Box Thinlets is on the Retirement List so if I have inspired you to get one, don't wait too long to order it, they will only be available until 4th January 2016.

I am the last blog on the hop, so if you have been all the way around then hop back to the main blog and if you get inspired to join in add a link to your project in the comments.  Otherwise follow the link to Stasia's blog and check out her project inspired by the Holiday Catalogue.

CTC #57 - Season Of Cheer

This week on CTC Blog Hop we are taking inspiration from the Seasons Of Cheer section of the Holiday Catalogue, p 28-34.  There are so many lovely projects in this section, and I chose to take my inspiration from the card on page 32.

I don't have the stamps or vellum that the card in the catalogue uses, so I decided to try using the products I do have.  One of the things I love about CTC is that it not only makes you look at all the samples, but gets me thinking about how I can use what I have.  For this card I used the Merry Moments DSP for both the background and the gift, however with the gift I layered this onto two layers of Whisper White cardstock to give it some strength.  I just love the silver cord and it is just perfect for the gift, I cheated a little by just wrapping it around the gift and adding the bow separately to get it to sit nice and straight.  The sentiment is from Wondrous Wreath.

I am the last blog in the hop so you can make your way to the main CTC Blog if you would like to add your own creation in the comments. or hop over to Stasia's blog and keep hopping.

CTC #54 - Christmas Colours

I have missed the last couple of CASE-ing the Catty blog hops and am so happy to be back this week for this hop, taking inspiration from the colours Real Red, Pool Party and Mossy Meadow. I love how Pool Party gives a modern look to the more traditional green and red.

I have used one of my new sets for this card, with the sentiment coming from Among The Branches, stamping it in Real Red before mounting on a piece of Mossy Meadow that I punched twice with the scallop circle punch, I love the effect this gives and it wasn't too hard to line up the second punch.  Also new on this card is the very pretty ribbon with it's snow like sparkle, it inspired me to cut the third tree from Glimmer Paper rather than the third identically stamped tree.  I added some of my favorite snowflakes to the left of the ribbon.

From here you can either hop on over to Julia's blog, or if you started there you can hop to the main blog page and upload a link to your own creation.
