CTC #102 - Halloween Night

Welcome to another CASEing the Catty blog hop, this week we are taking our inspiration from the Halloween Night section of the Holiday catalogue, pages 50 - 55.

I took my inspiration this week from the scarecrow card in the above image from page 53 of the catalogue.  I don't know why but I have really been drawn to the asymetrical cards recently, and this is no exception.

I have turned the card on its side and made a landscape version using Foxy Friends instead of the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamps.  The use of the Moroccan Nights DSP gives the card a more masculine finish than the original. This is another great sketch that could be used for any occassion.

You can see a little bit of the inside panel of the card, I simply added a strip of DSP and stamped a few of the cute little mushrooms in the corner.

I hope you have been inspired to join in with us this week, just add a copy of your picture to the link above.

Time to head on over to see what Elizabeth has been inspired to create this week.

CTC #101 - Holiday Bundle

Welcome to another CTC Sunday Blog Hop, this week we are taking our inspiration from the lovely collection of bundles in the holiday  Annual catalogue. Oops, I misread the challenge this week and went with the holiday catalogue instead of the Annual Catalogue!  On the upside I have used some of the lovely DSPs from the Annual catalogue in my cards!

I am using two bundles for my inspiration this week, firstly this card featuring the Holly Berry Happiness bundle was my inspiration for the layout of my card.  I then used my faviourite holiday bundle Paisleys & Posies bundle to create them.

As you know if you visit my blog regularly that I love the Floral Boutique DSP and the Copper Foil Sheets, and I used them both in my first card.  The sentiments are from Birthday Blossoms stamp set which I lined up using my Stamp-a-ma-jig and added the line under the Happy Birthday with a Stampin' Write Marker.

Once I had made one I was inspired to re-create the layout using some other DSPs. This one uses the more masculine colours of the Moroccan DSP and I have paired it with Gold Glimmer Paper instead of the copper foil sheets.

Finally I decided to go quite femanine with this card using Blooms & Bliss DSP and matching Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper.

I really can't decide which I like best, but this is a great layout to use up DSP, and could be changed to fit any occasion with a different sentiment.

I hope you have been inspired to join in this week, just take inspiration from one of the many bundles in the Holiday Annual Catalogue then add a picture of your project to the link on hte main page.

Time to hop on over to Rachel's blog to see which of the bundles inspired her this week.

CTC #100 - Presents and Pinecones

Welcome to our 100th CTC Blog Hop!  Can you believe it? It has been such a fun way to explore the catalogue and I am ever grateful for Bronwyn setting this up.

This week we are taking inspiration from the Presents and Pinecones section of the Holiday Catalogue, I chose to take broad inspiration from the cute red card above.

I changed the orientation of the card but am enjoying the challenge of having some off-centre elements on my cards which are usually just not my thing..  I used the Peace This Christmas stamp set which goes beautifully with the This Christmas specialty DSP.  I do like my borders on cards, so couldn't give that up and just layered a panel of the DSP rather than covering the whole front of the card. I added a few gold sequins to the sentiment panel to add a bit of bling and sparkle.

I hope you are inspired to join in this week, it is really easy, just look at the projects on pages 18 - 31 of the Holiday catalogue and create your project. You can choose a layout, colour scheme or anything that isnpires you to create your card or 3D project, then add it to the challenge page for this month by following the link above.

CTC #99 - Holiday Tags

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty, this week we are taking inspiration from the tags in the Holiday catalogue.  There is such a range of tags in this catty so there is much to be inspired by.

I chose the Tin of Tags which caught my eye when I first looked through the catalogue.  I purchased the stamp set for myself, and the kit for my daughter who also fell in love with it.

I wanted to see how I could re-create the tags using products not from the kit. As I was working on them I started to veer away from the original designs and am really happy with how they turned out.

Here is a closer look at the tags:
I used the circle stamp from Perfectly Wrapped for the border on the oval tag. I just love that with photopolymer stamps you can change the shape of stamps to meet your needs.

I used water colour paper for the tags and they gave the perfect  effect for the background, I did try whisper white but it didn't give the right look.

These final two tags made use of the lovely trio of bakers twine, I used it to make the tassels on the tags in this set.

I hope you are inspired to join us this week, I know I can't wait to get my presents bought and wrapped so I can pop these tags on them.  If you would like to join in this week, just add a picture to the link above.

Time to hop on over to Jackie's blog and see what she been inspired to create this week.

CTC #98 - Warmth & Cheer

Welcome to a new CTC blog hop, this week we are taking inspiration from the Warmth & Cheer section of the catalogue, pages 12 - 17.

I was taken by one of the cards on page 12, the landscape one on the right.  I can't really pin-point what it is that took my attention, maybe that the main panel is asymmetrical.

I decided against going with a Christmas theme, and chose the Scenic Sayings stamp set instead.  I think this is a super cute card that would be nice to give as a "just because" card.

I was playing around with the DSP and decided to make a second card using the pinks and really like how it turned out.  I can't pick a favourite, I like them both for different reasons

If you would like to join in this week, add your photo to the main blog link above.

Time to hop on over to Rachel's blog and check out her project inspired by the Warmth & Cheer section of the Holiday Catalogue.
